Announcing the Retirement of our Chief Executive Officer
Indianapolis, IN — Raphael Health Center announces the upcoming retirement of Sherry Gray, Chief Executive Officer, effective January 5, 2027. Sherry joined Raphael Health Center in 2015 and has served the organization for more than a decade, providing steady, mission-centered leadership through a period of growth, challenge, and expanded community impact.
Since stepping into executive leadership at Raphael Health Center, Sherry has helped guide the organization’s mission to provide accessible, affordable, high-quality outpatient health care services to medically underserved individuals and families. Her leadership has reflected a deep commitment to compassionate care, community partnership, and the Center’s ongoing vision of advancing “100% Access and 0 Health Disparities” in the Greater Indianapolis community.
During Sherry’s tenure, Raphael Health Center reached several important milestones, including adding optometry services, launching Primary Care HIV Prevention (PCHP), partnering with The Salvation Army Men’s Recovery Center, and guiding the organization through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under Sherry’s leadership, Raphael has also expanded access to medications through the addition of an in-house pharmacy, opened in 2024, further supporting patients who rely on convenient, affordable, and coordinated care.
These accomplishments reflect Sherry’s focus on reducing barriers to care and responding to the evolving needs of the community. Through expanded services and partnerships, Raphael Health Center has continued to strengthen its role as a trusted community health resource, meeting patients with dignity, respect, and excellence.

The Raphael Health Center Board of Directors has begun a structured succession and executive search process to identify the organization’s next Chief Executive Officer. The Board is committed to conducting a thoughtful and comprehensive search while maintaining continuity of leadership, patient care, and organizational operations throughout the transition.
